Projects

A selection of my work across Unreal Engine, virtual reality, simulation, data visualization, and web and mobile development.

MASTER THESIS

Immersive Visualization of Large-Scale Spatio-Temporal Datasets in Virtual Reality

Master thesis, University of Bremen

Developed a UE5 VR prototype for the interactive exploration of large oceanographic datasets, including asynchronous loading, temporal navigation, data aggregation, and spatial orientation aids.

Contribution: Independently designed and implemented the prototype, including data preprocessing and visualization logic, and planned, conducted, and evaluated a formative user study.

STUDENT RESEARCH ASSISTANT

VaMEx-VTB – Mars Simulation in Unreal Engine 5

Simulation platform for connected rovers and autonomous exploration

An Unreal Engine-based simulation environment for realistic testing of Mars rovers, sensor systems, and swarm-based exploration strategies through ROS2 integration.

Contribution: Technical development of the existing platform with a focus on VR, stabilization, refactoring, Linux migration, Unreal Engine upgrades, and documentation.

STUDENT RESEARCH ASSISTANT

DLRSchoolLab / VaMEx goes SchoolLab VR Simulation

Multiplayer VR application for education and science communication

A VaMEx-based VR Mars mission in which children and young adults work together to test rovers, complete mission tasks, and analyze collected samples.

Contribution: Focused on the technical development of the application and the implementation of its user interface. Also responsible for preparing, facilitating, and documenting several user tests.

MASTER PROJECT

TRIPLE-Sim – Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Simulation

Master project, University of Bremen

Developed an Unreal Engine 5 simulation for the TRIPLE project. Core components of the VaMEx-VTB were adapted for a standalone environment in which external control software can operate an autonomous underwater vehicle through ROS2.

Contribution: Technical focus on the ROS2 backend and system integration, implementation of virtual sensors, processing and visualization of sensor data, and contributions to the simulated icy-moon surface.

MOBILE APP

Solitaire Klondike Classic Android App

Independently developed Android app built with Flutter

An independently developed Klondike solitaire app for Android, published on the Google Play Store and downloaded around 200 times without active promotion.

Contribution: Implemented the complete game logic, user interface, animations, and local data storage, and handled the release and ongoing maintenance through the Google Play Store.

BACHELOR THESIS

Design and Development of a Grade Management System

Bachelor thesis, University of Bremen

Designed and developed a modern web-based application to replace a difficult-to-maintain legacy system for the administration of grades and examinations. The system consolidated numerous administrative workflows in a role-based application.

Contribution: Implemented authentication and role management, student, course, and grade administration, examination workflows, document import and export, automated data generation for the university examination system, and a custom scripting language for flexible grading formulas.
